The main thing is to get a good caterer, seeing your out on the coast, can't help in that direction, but there are some very good ones around here, or there was a few years ago. Kate was right about a speaker, and for your cause you could just get one free. another way is to contact local buisness to sponsor the event by taking a table at a set price for, say six covers, and of course a must is a raffle and even a tombola. Hope that is of some help
