Anyone want FREE phone calls

Anyone want FREE phone calls?
YES I did say FREE

All it will cost you is 1p for the connection and then its free to talk as long as you like (some reports of being disconnected after 2 hours)

Apply's only to BT lines, you will still have to pay your line rental to BT

If you are on NTL you can still use this but there is a different NO. to dial and you are charged 0.5p Per Min

Can be used for mobiles as well but I haven't checked that out yet, just been doing tests on the home phone and I can verify that you will only get charged the 1p per call

Calla abroad are really cheap, see here

Interested?

Well go here and register, then all you need to do is dial 18866 before the phone No.

Re: Anyone want FREE phone calls

If something sounds too good to be true it usually is. I'd be waiting for some gigantic bill at the end of a set period, or somehting in the small print that they haven't bothered to highlight.

OK, so I'm a very suspicious person, but what do they get out of it?

Re: Anyone want FREE phone calls

Thats exactly what I thought but there is no catch, I have only been with them about a week and have checked on their site and my account on BT and I am only getting charged the 1p, do a google search, theres a few forums out there about them and it is what it says.
I have used a similar Co. for a few years now (vartec) but these are cheaper

This isnt spam at all, get your facts right before you start accusing people. reason why Burnley web has put a lock on it is probably that they are used to putting locks on evertything in burnley!
I posted a link on here to help people get free calls, if you dont want them you dont have to click the links

Re: Anyone want FREE phone calls

Just checked my bill, made 67 calls so far and my invoice is for £1.00

The prices have changed a little now, it costs 2p per connection but still no pence/min to pay.

They also have reduced call charges to Australia, Canada, France, Germany and Ireland to 1p per min.

I have also checked my BT bill on a regular basis and there has been no call charges to this since I signed up with 18866 apart from the odd 0845 and 0870 numbers we have dialed

K.S.H is quite correct also 1899 does the same service. if you are sceptic, pessimist,or owt else don't bother, misery loves company,i don't. seems to me like if you try to do people a favour these creep out of the woodwork.

Re: Anyone want FREE phone calls

Think i am talking about the same kinda thing

there are different options with bt you can apply for.

we have gone for the one where you pay £15.00 a month I think then you get phone calls after 7pm free up to 59 minutes, then you put the phone down and then start another 59 mins n so on! and at weeks it is free all the time.

There is no catch, as ive checked the bill

What do you get charged during the day, 5p a min?

So far this month my bill is looking like this
BT line rental approx £9.99
18866 calls 82 which costs £1.30
Total £11.29

Another thing to mention is we do not call mobiles with the house phone, we both have contract mobiles where we get free Xnetwork mins so we use these up for mobile calls

A quick calculation I make it if people go on the contract you have and make more than 250 calls a month and none during the day they will save money,
ie line rental £10.00 250 calls at 2p = £5 total £15 using 18866, so 251 calls will cost £15.02 and go up 2p by every call, so saving on the BT contract. But you have to take into account any calls made during the day which will be on top of your £15 monthly bill

If you only make lets, say 150 calls a month this would work out at:-
£9.99 line rental
150 calls at 2p = £3
Total cost £12.99

and a low user of only 50 calls a month will have a total bill of £10.99

One thing I have just noticed on my bill is that some calls are for 2 seconds, this is when we ring someone and it goes into the answer machine and we put the phone down, we get charged the 2p connection fee, do people realise that on BT if you get connected to the answer machine like this you get charged 4.2p + VAT = 5p even if you dont leave a message!

Sorry if this is late but I just checked on a search engine for sites mentioning my site.

No one has posted anything like this to do with free calls on my forum, and if was a genuine member and there was no reason to suspect it would be left.

On my forum, same with accy web, we have been plagued with the same company posting spam messages about free xbox, playstations, etc. These are the only users who have been banned.

As for everything being locked in Burnley, not on my site! They can close me down first, or at least try.

Thanks and goodbye.

Re: Anyone want FREE phone calls

Well I got my BT bill today, got charged £29.36 + vat for a quarters line rental and my call cost for the quarter is £3.90 + vatand a discount of 21p TOTAL = £38.83
The £3.90 is made up from a few calls made before I went onto the 18866 and 0870 0845 numbers
I even got a letter in saying I now qualify for low user rates because I dont use my phone much, be sending this off soon to get the line rental down
can you tell I dont like BT
