Think Barry's on about the good old days before the scourge of the male, kate, I refer to the introduction of tights Always preferred stockings and sussies myself, and the good old giggle band, when you got past that you were laughing

Re: Boob Job
You may find this difficult to understand - I had my usual aperetif, and 2 beers after dinner, before 2000 - not allowed anything other than water after that until after m blood test this morning. I was driking sparkling water all evening, making sure I was fully flushed out - the result is that I was smashed, staggering, bouncing off the walls - just goes to prove that water is dangerous :-))

Re: Boob Job
Trying to make up for it now, pastis for my aperetif and then more than a couple of beers after dinner.
Always knew that water was dangerous, lots of people drown in it but not many drown in beer or single malt.
Agree with the tought on sussies, got posted to Weston-super-Mare, a bicycle town - before tights, a fantastic year but some close encounters with light posts and other impediments :-))

Re: Boob Job
I would never have cosmetic surgery, but I think people are being a bit unfair on those who do choose to have it because they are not happy with their bodies.
One of my friends had a breast 3 cup sizes larger than the other when she was younger and had to have cosmetic surgery, because although she could fill one cup with padding to even them out, she still felt deformed even though she was entirely healthy.
Burns don't affect your health once they have healed but would you say a burn victim shouldn't have skin grafts? Children can often be born with deformities and we're more than happy to see them made to look more like the way we expect people to look. We let people have harmless moles and warts removed for cosmetic reasons. We empathise with people with unsightly birth marks and in our heads we are glad that we look normal on the outside.
Why shouldn't people who don't look the way they feel they should look, for 'vanity' as some of you seem to put it down to, not have these procedures so they can feel happy in their skin too? They're paying the money to take that risk after all. Those who get the procedures on the NHS are heavily counselled and assessed by specialists before given anything. But for those people on the NHS it could be the difference between finally being able to comfortably have sex with the person they love right through to no longer wanting to kill themselves.
I just think people are too quick to judge an individual for wanting cosmetic surgery. As Scroobius Pip says, things in life ain't always quite what they seem, there's more than any one given angle to any one given scene!

Re: Boob Job
Burns do affect you even when they have healed and I should know. My grandson burnt himself when he was four and as he has grown the skin on his neck has tightened. This has been released in an op because it had to be other wise it would have restricted his movement. It will need doing again shortly but it is not for cosmetic reasons.

ok, burns are affected during growth in many instances.
But not all burns, and most of the work done on burns is as cosmetic as any other reason. You'll never hear a doctor neglect to mention the reduction of the harsh appearance of a burn when talking about initial skin grafts on a burn victim. Simply because it is a matter of concern for EVERYONE.

Re: Boob Job
Well all the grafts that Robert had were done for medical reasons to replace the skin that burnt off. He has no further surgery scheduled apart from the easing of the skin on his neck when it tightens.

Re: Boob Job
I suspect also that knowledge on plastic surgery is passed between the private and public services, so improving the success and knowledge of any procedures.

Re: Boob Job
I'm going to be a terrible bore and say 'don't have it done'. They look great in a nice top but from a male point of view that's generally where the appeal ends. A mate of mine hated his wife's implants after a while because it was obvious that they weren't really part of her body.
I'm lucky enough to be married to a fantastic woman who is quite blessed in that department and, although they caught my eye at first, it isn't her breasts that have made us a happy couple. I'd rather go to bed with someone I'm in love with than a woman who feels like a plastic doll.
