Cats and new home

As some will know, we have just moved house. No trouble getting them there, thanks to KSH, and the cage I got from him. all four went in together, no probs, and the rabbit was transported in the cat basket, lol. all five in one journey... brilliant.

Kept them in for a couple of days. Not had any probs when moving them before.
But now one of the cats doesn't seem to want to live with us any more.

She comes into the yard at feeding time, then promptly disappears again.

Tried grabbing her last time she came in the yard and bringing her in, but she doesn't want to be in the house.

Any one had this problem?

At least I know she won't go hungry, but would like her to be back with her feline family again.

Re: Cats and new home

yeah..my old cat did that when we moved once... every morning when i let her out she would 'go home' and i had to go and get her, she wouldny come to the new house...i found out that a family up there were feeding her so she stayed there, after i asked them not to she started coming to the new house with us.... yours will probably come round when she realises that its her new home and thats where she will be fed lol

Re: Cats and new home

She's not going to her old home, shes always there for feeding time.

We had one cat a few years back that did that. We brought him back five times...said if he went again he could stay up there...and he did! (Don't know how he found his way back ....would have to cross Hyndburn Road amidst all that traffic. And how did he find the way... no scent to follow as he was brought to new house in a car.)

We've seen her wandering around in the area. Hopefully she will settle down. But as i said at least I know she won't go hungry. She ain't that daft.

Also I've made one of the out houses into a comfortable shelter for the cats, so she'll be OK.

Cats have a mind of their own Caz, don't know whether you'll succeed in getting her to like your new home
