describing yourself

If you were asked to describe yourself in a few paragraphs what would you put?

i need to describe myself on an application for something (dont ask) and it says.......

'Please write a few paragagraphs in the box below to let us know what you are like.Summarise your character, your likes and dislikes and your family members'

i really have no idea what to put, any ideas??

Re: describing yourself

It wouldn't bother me submitting a description of myself, family members is another matter. Seems a tad cheeky to me.

I don't think they want Emma to describe her family members in detail.

They just want a paragraph detailing her likes and dislikes. I take this to mean hobbies / pastimes etc. Character i.e is she reliable, trustworthy, sense of humour?

When they ask about family members I think they are asking who she lives with, has she got children? I may be wrong but this is how I interpret it.

Re: describing yourself

Does this not all depend on what the application is for?

All in all though, you would want to be as honest as possible as it could come back and bite ya on the backside later ( not in a good way )

School Teacher: You might want to emphasize that you have a child of school age, are extremley family orientated, have had plenty of experience in looking after children blah blah

Adult Movie Star: You are very flexible, extremley keen on learning new things, would be punctual

See there's a big difference
