you can use your iron ( make sure you use it over paper brown paper if poss) then just scrape it off: it works I did mine this way:

get a carpet fitter to do the job they would have the right tool,s for the job.

Interesting suggestions that got the job done & didnt take long was using the wall paper steamer ..........great tip if anyone needs it for this job, got nice plush carpet down now so hard work wasn't too much in vain LOL!!

Thank you least now know to ask for tips before hand

i would do it with hot water and scraper if you dont have a steamer

easier way is to pay someone to do it for you lol

If, when you laid the carpet, you had put newspaper underneath you wouldn’t have had that problem.

Better still, if you have enough of them, use plastic carrier bags opened up under a foam backed carpet. Or bin bags.
