Re: Heartburn!
I am a long time heartburn sufferer, I take zantac regularly when having trouble, I have found this the best, I just looked at the box and it doesn't mention pregnancy, can't find the instructions, they are expensive but very good, they do occasionally make you constipated though! They are available over counter and at asda. Good luck.

Re: Heartburn!
Ginger.......suck a piece of glace ginger until the taste is almost gone, or grate some root ginger and pour boiling water over it......add a teaspoon of honey and drink while it is still warm (sieve the bits out first) You can use the gratings more than once, but they do get weaker the more times you use them.
Small meals...sit up to eat and for at least a couple of hours after food.......the baby is stopping the stomach from emptying efficiently and the hormones of pregnancy can relax the ring of muscle that closes the gullet...making it easy for acid contents to leak back into the gullet(reflux is the technical term) and that is what causes the problem.
Not much longer to go now though.
I hope my suggestions work for you.

Re: Heartburn!
I have acid refux due to hernia where my *oesophagus* enters my stomach.
It is essential to keep acid from causing inflammation of your *food pipe*.
My Doc prescribes double strength Zantac under its generic name of Ranitidine.
To buy Zantac is expensive - best to get it off your doc on free prescription - and you will know then that it will not harm your baby.
Chalky remedies like Rennies are likely to contain aluminium which is bad news if you need to take a lot.

Re: Heartburn!
That's interesting. Mimi had loads of hair and I had heartburn when expecting her. No heartburn when expecting Emz and she was practically bald!

Re: Heartburn!
I haven't any more advice to give other than the others have done.
But I have heard the saying......suffer from heartburn and your baby has a good head of hair when born lol
Suppose that's not much comfort to you now though

Re: Heartburn!
I never really got much heartburn and both of mine had lots of hair when they were born. I suppose there's always exceptions, isn't there?
Chin up, Mummiboo. It'll all be over soon.
