For nice clean windows, I've heard that a drop of cider vinegar in the water does the trick - never tried it, but many people have told me in works.

Post Re: Household

Ordinary vinegar will do.  I've used it for years on the inside of my car windscreen - gets tobaccco stains off a treat
Believe it or not, babywipes are excellent for cleaning patent leather shoes and handbags. Discovered this by accident. They are terrible for cleaning babies bottoms.
But don't use them on real leather cos it takes off the protective layer of the leather taking the colour as well !!

If your cat or dog has been sick on your carpet, a quick squirt from a soda syphon will help get rid of the smell, once you have cleaned it up. dont know if it works on urine though.

Had a neighbouring tom cat that used to sometimes sneak into my kitchen when the back door was open and he would sometimes leave a little scent on my floor. I used to cut an onion in half and rub it over the carpet/lino. It would reduce the smell a bit and didn't smell particularly oniony. (used to sprinkle salt on the carpet first, leave for a few minutes, sponge off with warm water then rub with raw onion)
