Smile How Clean is your House

Ellie my 3 year old scribbled all over my wall in bright red chinograph pencil, tried all sorts to get it off in the end I followed the advice of the above program and bought some Bicarb of soda, well it came off no problem, was really suited, supposed to work for wax crayon as well, this may be old news to some of you but it was new to me. Are there any more uses for it?

Bi-carb soda is a boon for all king of cleaning jobs.........a heaped teaspoon in with the washing powder when you are washing whites......makes the whites snow white.

It is good for curing a smelly fridge........again, just a heaped teaspoon in warm water and wipe out the inside of the fridge.

If you are unfortunate enough to have a tom cat pee in your house.......you can either dust the spot with dry bi-carb (specially useful for fabrics/carpets)......or mix a solution and dab it into the stain.......leave it for 24 hours and then spot wash the area with detergent.......If the smell is persistent you may have to do it again. Oh, I should have said if you use the dry version, leave for 24 hours and then vacuum up.

Those are my tips with Bi-carb.

Bi-carb is also indespensible for making proper mushy peas.

If you burn the pan they are in, you can then use the tip about soaking the burnt bottom with it.

Re: How Clean is your House

It's also good for indigestion if you have no Rennies.

Mix half a teaspoon with small cup of boiled water, stir until disolved, and sip.

Hey presto, bloody marvellous stuff.

It is also ace for soothing mouth ulcers.......same mix as for indigestion, but rinse it round the mouth and spit it out.......it tastes gruesome..... but the good news is that water...yeah, plain water tastes lovely after a mouthful of bic-carb. I know it isn't related to cleaning.... but still a useful tip.

Re: How Clean is your House

Couldn 't get the smell of spilt milk out of my vestibule carpet a while back. Then someone came up with the tip of using bi-carb, did the trick.
