Local Trains
This was in last nights Telegraph
Leaves on line lead to slower trains
TRAINS in East Lancashire are being ordered to slow down for two months as leaves affect the region's railway lines.
Rotting vegetation will meana reduced service until December.
Currentley the hourly 'stopper' service running from Blackpool North to Colne and back, calls at 15 stations.
But until early December passengers will have to choose between alighting at Cherry tree or Pleasington stations, in Blackburn or Huncoat or Hapton stations, near Burnley.

Re: Local Trains
If that journey gets any slower it may be quicker to walk it. The state of local train services are appalling

Re: Local Trains
Haven't they got around to sorting out those leaves yet? It's every year! The answer is to plant only trees which produce the right sort of leaves which British Rail can cope with.

Yes, any particular reason for asking ?... think it is just the way the trees are positioned. Or the path whichever came first.

Wow, see what you mean Neil .. quite dangerous when wet I expect, though great fun when dry. Not sure if the ones in Mercer Park have been swept aside though ... looks like it, doesn't it.

Re: Local Trains
By December they had started to rot and were turning mushy and even more slippery. Lets see what happens this year
