Lucky me!

Well, this morning I had the chance to bin my job & look forwards to the good life!

A very nice man? (from UK 00447415696678) sent me a text (I'm on Vodaphone DE) saying the following :-

Your mobile number has been selected as a winner of £950,000 with draw number 8,9,15,20. email for your claims.

"[email protected]"
(The speech marks are my doing, so it doesn't come up as an e-mail address)

Of course I shall be doing just that presently! So all you pheasants out there, next time I'm in Accy you'll know I'm in town because I'll be adorned in bling & cruising round in a big red loud shouty Ferrari.

Re: Lucky me!

Dave, have you only won one lot, you poor thing - we've apparently won a total of 5 so far. All from the UK, 3 have been similar to yours - i.e. your mobile number, etc., etc., but 2 messages said we had won actual lotteries. Given that we are some 12,000 miles away from the UK and haven't purchased any from there (I spend enough on actual/real Australian ones!) were the clues that this just might be a scam...the delete key is a very useful tool.

Btw, one figure given of how much we had won had so many zero's I lost count - so your 'winnings' were slim pickings in comparison. We could have paid off the National debt.

A while ago I got a letter from some foreign land - think it was Nigeria (oh! joy) telling me I was in the running to inherit umpteen millions - I was tempted to reply but only to correct the spelling mistakes. However, the temptation to screw it up was greater.

Rang the number, they seem to be engaged, or maybe there are too many of us trying to claim on our non existent winnings so they've left the 'phone off the hook?
