mobile unlocking.

Don't risk bricking your phone and save yourself a few quid as well.

Using this http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.12167 between your Sim and teh phone unlocks teh phone without any risk. As it only costs around £4 delivered its also cheaper than getting it unlocked. They even take paypal if you don't have a debit card.

I'm using one in my Nokia N80 now ( which is almost impossible to unlock, cheapest quoted was £25) and it works a treat, phone locked to Orange, currently on O2. The only 'slight' downside is that you have to trim about 3-4mm of the sim card away so that the chip sits flush. I'll post a picture of mine if anyone wants more detail of how much I had to trim.

Re: mobile unlocking.

Some are a lot haredr than others, my N80 actually needs soem parts of teh PCB 'scraping' to expose some test 'read' points for teh unlock tool. Too far and it turns it into an expensive paperweight. This is risk free.

Cutting teh sim isn't as scary as it sounds, you don't go anywhere near teh actal chip. Its just a but of plastic trim that needs to be removed.

Re: mobile unlocking.

I know a mate of mine did that - trimmed the sim card down & when she got a new phone she had to get a replacement sim as it wouldnt fit in the standard holding properly as it moved being smaller so not engaging with the points well & coming up with no sim inserted.

Re: mobile unlocking.

don't see it being a problem, its just a case of making sure if yu used it without teh unlocker that you line it up properly in teh holder.
