need help with water avise wanted

how do get rid of frozen pipe outside.we only got no water downstair only in the batroorm.we cannot you are washing machine.is they anything that heip thaw pipe qulicky please thank you

use hairdryer on outside pipe was advice on radio other day, as we had same problem, we tried it, n voila its now free.

240 vlt outside in the wet, not good but an ideal way all the same, hot air guns can do it as well battery powered ones can be hired, get on the phone

yer probably correct as me n electricity don't mix well, was a Plumber on Radio giving that advice.

how can he pour hot water on it? where is he going to get the water from to heat it up if the pipe is frozen and they have no water???

If i can read the first post right he has water in the bathroom or failing that there is plenty of white stuff outside
oh and i presume they have neighbours

Yes, pour a neighbour over it.

What Neil suggests is the safer option, (though perhaps warm rather than boiling water, it will take longer but the splash back won't scald as much), or wait until spring.

Trouble is he doesn't say what the pipe does.
is it a waste pipe or the incoming supply.
if its a waste pipe and you can access above it,
tip some caustic soda in, it will react with any grease or soapy residue and it will generate heat.
Did that with the bathroom sink outflow.
