pointing flags in you garden

who's done this,
and when you done it what ratio of mix cement/sand etc, and was it a wet or dry mix...??

Hubby did ours he used ratio of 3 to 1 and he says preferably wet mix, hope this helps

Best way to do it IMO is to mix accordingly (3 to 1) heap it on to the flags and use a brush to spread it in to the spaces and then go over it with a watering can, not too much water but enough that you get all the pointing moist.

That sounds a lot quicker than pointing with a wet mix.

I have genuine sand stone flags in my back yard. Some b*****d concreted over them though.

coming from glasgow I have always know them as slabs but since I came down here they have been known as flags..???

See this is what I mean.........I have just posted a thread about being in county Durham......and the different ways of different areas. I know them as flags too!!
