Re: Rubbish/Christmas Cards
Don't they have a special Christmas card recycle? The PO used to have a collection of them inside the general in Accy.

Re: Rubbish/Christmas Cards
A lot of places collect Xmas cards for Charity. Have you tried looking ifthere is one at teh local school/church/youth club etc? That way your dilema is solved and you are doing some good at the same time

You can take them to Asda, they are collecting them for recycling.

Re: Rubbish/Christmas Cards
Some of mine have got all twiddly bits on so they shouldn't go in the paper recycling.

I am giving them to HBC to recycle with all the rest of the stuff we separate for them for us so our Council Tax will come down this year

What twiddly bits .. you got summat I don't ?
Well, thank you all .. more confused than ever now.
Entwisi: you making me feel a little guilty that maybe a local small charity should benefit from my small collection, rather than the good of all and send them to HBC... have no time for asking around anyway.
Willow: Have one or two raunchy ones couldn't possible let go to a school, this what you meant?
Accymel: Does seem easiest option, doesn't it ? .. put in white bag. Just don't want the dustbin patrol using me as an example for incorrect recycling, Would put in black bin too ... but hide in Supermarket bag in case they are spotted !!
Lancsdave: That sounds about the best option ... least not breaking the rubbish rules and know putting in a 'Kosha' collection.
Gosh, this re-cycling scary 'aint it ? Feel like a criminal every week in case I have not 'done it proper'

I know what you mean - if we recycle something we shouldn't we're as bad as if we don't recycle something we should!

Re: Rubbish/Christmas Cards
If you really want to be green, you should cut them all up and make little gift tags for next year, and with the backs of the cards, place them all together, make holes with a hole punch, fasten with a pretty ribbon, et voila - a handy telephone note pad.

Re: Rubbish/Christmas Cards
I have been making gift tags out of my old Christmas cards for years. Helps with the recycling, saves money and gives a more personal touch into the bargain.
