Question Thinking about buying a new settee?

If anyone is considering buying a new suite from one of the larger (local) retailers, I recommend you visit this site before you decide where to part with your hard earned cash.

I can't believe some of the horror stories on here.

Re: Thinking about buying a new settee?

Known that they had a bad reputation for years, friend of mine used to work at BM furniture (next door to csl on the vine mill
). And every day the delivery drivers would race thier vans off the estate at crazy speeds (probably where a lot of the damage was caused). Also a lot of the drivers/passengers where smoking suspiciously long ciggies (if you know what mean). So in short i would never buy from csl.

Re: Thinking about buying a new settee?

always pay with credit card not cash as you are coverd if funiture store goes broke.several years ago i payed 1,700 cash to uno for what a thought was a bargain they insisted on cash for the fantastic offer thyey had mayed me the next day they went bust. we were classed as unsecured crediters and got nothing back if we had payed on card we would have been coverd.two things i should have listened to my dad on one never part with cash untill you got what you payed for and second if a offersounds to good to be true it probely is.

I too bought from UNO just before they went bust, but fortunately took delivery only a few weeks before they folded. The leather damage insurance, that I had paid extra for, wasn't 'worth a light' but had 'cost a bomb'

To be fair, 'tis easy to pull up complaints against a company, but how many transactions have gone through smoothly with this company, and compliments paid. ?
