Barratts built the last ones on the old Rist Wires land.

Yes, I made reference to that application in this post

http://www.accringtonweb.com/forum/f...s-27426-8.html

Club site redevelopment knocked back - News - Accrington Observer

recommended by the "Officers of the Council" for acceptance, turned down by the butchers, bakers, and candlestick makers of the "Planning Committee" note the comments of some committee members

I would think that the developers will now appeal, if they do then the houses will get built, because HBC will not contest the appeal.

Re: springhill club!!

I used to go in this club as a child (not as bad as it sounds lol it was quite a number of years ago and I was with my parents) Also used to go to the kiddies christmas parties etc (there and at the pickups arms which is no longer there) It wasnt a bad club in its day, its just another in a long line of clubs and pubs to dissapear. They should do it up and re-open it not turn it into yet more houses

The trouble was that they were getting about 5 people in per night. They had no choice but to close as they couldn't afford to stay open and do it up.

I think that the proposed houses up Stanhill are going to be 3 storey, the ones on the Rists site are only 2 storey.

There are some 3 storey houses on the estate at Church traffic lights, they're not Barratts but they are 3 storey so they will probably look similar to those.
