Re: 1st. Barbers
I used to go to Joe's in Lodge St. Quick Nick is right, he used to do me and my mate in about 5 minutes flat. His 'salon' was in the front room of a terraced house and as the room filled up you could see Joe speed up. You could always tell which kids had been to Joe's, they turned up at school next day with a bonehead haircut and a plaster on one ear !

Scott's was between the butchers and Mrs Towlers shop if memory serves. We used both these shops and also Mr Lunt the confectioners. I think my dad went to Norman Scott.

Kemp & Smiths was deffo on the same block as Babyland, between Babyland and the sweet shop / newsagents. A guy called Gary did the blokes downstairs and the ladies salon was upstairs. As a little kid I never knew where to look as he always had pics of topless models on every wall! Gary always had the same same haircut as the posing model in the style book lol.
