Re: 1st pint, 1st local.
Well, they have to get PP first ... for alterations that is. No change of use though of course.
Can only see the parking being a stumbling block.

Re: 1st pint, 1st local.
I've known about this for a while - I know some of the lads who have been working internally on the pub - it's a Church bloke who bought it.
Just looking through some of the planning submissions, though, I have a couple of observations:
a) The loos are being moved to the back of the pub. What then, is going to happen to those magnificent Victorian urinals in the gents? Will they be moved, smashed or sold on ebay for 100K the pair?
b) Talking bogs, I notice from the plans there is no provision for a seperate disabled facility. I thought it was now a legal requirement for any establishment of such a size to provide one. I may be wrong.
c) I also notice from the planning depts's comments that Henry Street is regarded as a secondary road with no substancial traffic. Eh?

They never do cashy, think you'll find there are very few council officers actually live in the borough, by that I mean senior officers, well that certainly used to be the case, maybe Bernard or Joan can shed more light on it

None of the the Chief Officers as you say live in the Borough. Although the Chief Executive at one time lived in Baxenden. But there are lots of officers at other levels that live in the Borough.
