Frannie is on the front row left hand side, he sat next to me at school and that must have been taken while he was still there about 61/62

Re: ACCY POP GROUPS 1960s

Hi Alan, I see Tommy around, The last time I played in the same band was in the early 70’s. I was the drummer for the Dapper’s. I took over from a guy called David Green or Green ------- something. He had a brother called Peter and also a younger brother, his mum and dad had the Palatine pub on Fredrick street in the 60’s. At that time the line up was Tommy Franks on base Graham Law on Guitar, Pete Hibbert on vocals. Graham Law was a first rate player even when well drunk, he would lean on the wall, and never miss a note. Pete as we all know was just the best, and Tommy a great player and a laugh a minute. I remember when Tommy was a coal chap we used to move the gear on his coal lorry, his favourite tale was how he got up in the morning and would leave his shadow in bed (coal dust) I remember playing at Enfield cricket club, he dropped his pants on stage for a bet to show of the blackest pair of legs and underpants.” I got home so late, I’d only time to wash m’y face”he told the audience, everybody loved Tommy.
