Re: Best year(s) while living in Accy
(We may have passed one another, I used to travel those roads on a 650 Triumph Thunderbird, in the late 50's. I used to like the bends on Hasi Old Rd, where you'd pay a pound an inch for what roads left, when you corner a bit too fast. [/COLOR][/B]Had to give up bike riding after I got a bullet in my left leg.)
Retlaw.
Do tell about the bullet Retlaw! I am all ears.

Don't I know you are all ears, nosy B.
Bullet went in under my left knee traveled upward, and just stopped an inch short of making me a soprano, do you want to see the scars.
Retlaw.

Re: Best year(s) while living in Accy
Back to thread-all good years in Accrington but some you remember more than others.
1958-I'd just got my first car, a 1931 Austin Seven from a scrap yard.Four of us went to Wales for a holiday and a back wheel fell of in the middle of the Menai Bridge. The traffic jam was awesome, we had to carry it off. Not a good start but then we met these four Welsh girls and it improved! Those mountain girls could eat an English boy alive and then look round for more! Yes ,I remember 58(just).

Re: Best year(s) while living in Accy
Although not born here, & having the advantage (?) of an Accrington education & growing up with the likes of you lot....
I did choose to move from Manchester (in '64) at age 19 & come & work here...
Whereupon, I met my current wife (44 yrs & still counting!!)
We now have 2 daughters, 2 sons in law, & 4 grandchildren from 16yrs down to 2.5yrs.
So, to get back to the thread title, I've got to say, my best years whilst living in Accy....
1964 to 2010
& hopefully, many more!!
