Does anyone remember Mrs Baldry?

She had a pet shop in Warner Street (now the Glory Hole I think) and she had a mynah bird which talked to you when you went in the shop. If she was in the back it would say "Sit down, put your feet up." and then shout "Mother! Customers! Put kettle on!"

I remember the mynah bird. Wasn't the petshop opposite Marsden's Leathergoods shop?

Some where round that region yes. I'm not exactly sure which shop it was but that bird was brilliant. It could mimic people's voices perfectly.

I asked the Woman who owned the shop if I could buy it, the Minah Bird said "she's not for sale".

You know I've sometimes wondered if they were related.
