Well thanks for the replies.
I am even more confused than I was yesterday.

Was the Cotton Club another name for the Brierfield Casino and did it become the 77.

Once again, the Club was a few hundred yards before the Briefield traffic lights on the right going towards Nelson from Burnley.

There was a wide carpeted stairway going up to the Casino room where I lost my brass, similar to a cinema.

It was not the Tropicano or the Nelson Imp.

Please help, a pint in Read Con tomorrow night relies on your answer.

I've given it a bit more thought Gremlin I'm nearly sure it was the 77 club, it was on the same circuit as the Starlight club at Little Harwood

I have just Googled 77 Club Briefield after a suggestion from jaysay.

Hooray the free pint is mine..

I found a story from the Tornados and Robb Huxley talks about how he played with them at Burnley Cabaret and in the same evening at the 77 Club Briefield. The Searchers played the two clubs the opposite way around.

Another Club I frequented a lot around that time was the Burnley Embassy where I helped out a bit, I still have my membership card Norman Brown the owner gave me.

Both Clubs were exciting for me coming from Todmorden. I only ever visited Accrington once before I emigrated here and that was to the Big Crown, there were all small rooms then before it was opened up and a mate had a group who was booked there, Logger and the Lumberjacks was the name.

Glad I could help Gremlin, I can remember the Embassey Club at Burnley although I never went, a couple of my mates went when they had a stripper on, but it didn't bother me, never was into look but don't touch

The Embassy certainly had strippers. I used to have to run them home after the show because they were too late to catch the train.
I once took Mitzy Roberts (the pocket stripper) home to Rusholme and had a drink with her at her flat. The following day her photo was all over the newspapers.
Her husband was Harry Roberts who had killed a policeman while escaping from jail and was hiding out. It was a few weeks before they caught him. I think he was released two years ago.
The headlines under her photo was something like "give your self up Harry"
I told Norman Brown that I would refuse any more jobs which involved taking the girls home. Poor old Gremlin would not be here today if Harry had caught us.

It is but seeing as I had noticed other town, Wigan for one, mentioned I would just ask a simple question. If it breaks your rules the post can be deleted, I have got my answer.

Not breaking any rules, if there wasn't a slight wonder on most threads they'd become very boring very easily
