Help please, does anyone remember?
My brother has asked me to pose this question. My SIL has found an old diary belonging to her dad. One day in 1974 he wrote that he dropped my brother and SIL at the Toby Jug. My brother can't remember where this is but thinks it must have been in the area somewhere. Does anyone remember a pub in Hyndburn that used to be called The Toby Jug?
Thanks Sue

Re: Help please, does anyone remember?
The Toby Jug is way out in the country, you get to it of the Grain road, turn right opposite the Grey Mare, think its the Tottington Road, its down that road about two miles or so

There's a "Toby Jug Tea Shop" in Whalley, was that a pub?

Re: Help please, does anyone remember?
The Toby Jug, in the Rossins area, was also a well known place to "end" a Treasure Hunt, which seemed to be popular then. After all the clues had been read, and the places discovered, they would finish the night off with perhaps pie and peas and a refreshing drink at The Toby Jug.
