I remember when Iron Brew was made by Stocks' in Accrington.

"Made in Scotland from girders", a likely story

Stantons pop, in those demi-john type bottles.

Used to deliver every week with the wagon.

Submarines in cornflake packets.

Remember too when vesta ready meals first came out. The contents of the sauce sachet used to chrystalise and people thought  i was glass.

Used to love the Chow Mein one with crispy noodles.

Do you remember those revolving wire stands that used to be in every newsagent's shop? They were packed with Amercian comics like Superman, Batman etc, which always seemed a bit more exotic than British comics with their ads for Charles Atlas, 3-foot animated models of Frankenstein etc. Further up the stand, there were monster books and Mad magazines, then at the top were those oh-so-intriguing magazines with titles like Stag and Blue Book. Trying to sneak a quick peek at them would earn you an instant reprimand from the shop owner!
