Re: Nayler the Printer
You have stumbled on to a site where people actually talk, I go on quite a few and it makes me wonder why people join because they never join in!!

On the Accy Observer website - expats section- there is a Peter Gregory in Australia who says he worked at Naylors as a compositor between '68 and '70

Nice one Margaret .. how on earth did you find that ??
Knew Peter myself, and all the other people he has mentioned.. sure Mark will too.
There you go Mark, that is a decent result

I'm just a champion Googler
I saw that ex pat message a while ago - replied to tell him how he could reach Alan Cornthwaite (via council recycling team)
I remember Geoff Pendergast - raised on Hornby St at same time as me - he actually knocked out one of my front teeth with an overenthusiastic kiss at his 7th birthday party
See Kate -- if you take Gingko biloba you get the memory of an elephant

Actually going worse today Margaret, if you note Peter worked at the Observer from '68 .. Mark joined Naylers in '69 ! So will have left before he 'joined' .
Have seen the other two you have mentioned now and then.
Presume just your baby tooth you lost. !
Mark: the only other person from Naylers I am strongly in touch with is Alan Lee, printer .. married a friend of mine (who also worked at Naylers for a short while) usually meet up in Spain !! Only live at Garstang.
Funnily enough, was behind their van on Dunkenhalgh way last night, and did throw up lots of memories.

Re: Nayler the Printer
Margaret, is Alan Cornthwaite in his early 60s and did he grow up in West End? I knew someone of that name, he had a brother called Brian and a sister named Beryl. I haven't seen him for well over 40 years.

I am not sure about where he was born --think he is in his late 50s -- I only know him to say Hi to -- he is an aquaintance of an old flame of mine
I know that his 1st wife was named Rose--- other than that I don't know, sorry

Here we go again ... Not sure of the order of Alan's wives, but definitely married 'Anne' who lived a few doors down from me in Barnes Street.. always thought she was his first wife ? Not sure after that.

Re: Nayler the Printer
It can't be the same person as the Alan Cornthwaite I knew would be at least 62 now, he was no more than a couple of years younger than me.

Just to confirm the one that worked at Naylers Westender .. just seen him in Asda and he is 64 .. 65 in June. Has sister called Beryl and brother Brian, and lived in Westend. Still has a good head of hair too, and still the beard. He is still with Anne, which was lovely to hear.
Mark: If ya' still looking in .. haven't seen you post lately! Alan sends his regards and said the last time he saw you, you were driving a horse and cart.

Re: Nayler the Printer
So it is the Corny I knew. If/when you see him again, Kate, tell him Cath Sleddon (as was) said hello.
He didn't have a beard when I knew him - mainly because I knew him best when we were both at school.
