When i was a little girl i used to play with my nanna's button tin for hours when she passed away a couple of years ago that was one of the things i got of hers the old button tin it is a quality street tin an old one still got lovely buttons in it!!
Oooo I'm with you on that one mummiboo spenty many happy childhood hours playing in the button tin

yes i still use a biscuit tin my self like you say doing things like that is handed down from grandad,grandma,and my mum and dad also i my self most be like you there is nothing up with that.
