Re: Summer School Holidays, where did you go, what did you get up to?

Jaysay, do you remember Bill Dash in the Plantation ( or has this already appeared in a previous forum)Deja vù or I'm getting too old for this site!!
I was absolutely terrified of him even though I never saw him. It was enough to hear his name mentioned, to make me fly out of the 'Planny' and run home.
Still it didn't stop us returning next day.
Spent many summers there.

Re: Summer School Holidays, where did you go, what did you get up to?

Spent lots of time playing footy at the top of Hodder St and over at Broad Oak works. Also did a lot of camping with the scouts, Ribble Valley, Isles of Scilly, Isle of Arran and Jersey. Brilliant times, also did a lot of bird egging. Haven,t a clue how we survived all of the daft things we got up to.

The kids today don't know what they are missing.. they spend most of the time with games on Xbox or playstations when they could be sitting on t'kerb bursting tar bubbles!

Only if we had any nice cobbles left to play on.
Cobbles slow cars down due to the unexpected road noise and outlast any tarmac road.

Stork marg........you were rich too.....it was LARD or dripping in our house.

I remember on of my many brothers getting it all over his school clothes, himself and his hair......his hair was shaved off, dripping was used to get it off his skin and I got leathered for letting him get it on his clothes.....happy days!

Yep, Nan C would drag us in, Margarine & Sugar (or something granular) then proceed to abrade the skin/tar/tan/muck away, until it was all pink & sore, then the clip !! Oh happy days

I think it's a generation thing, did you also play kirby ??
