This is the Arcadia Ballroom in the late 1950's which later became the Bucaneers. I Don't know if it was called the High Spot inbetween but it was definately downstairs in the cellar of the Liberal Club.

The article is quite large so I have only scanned part of it

Thanks fer that Anzac much appreciated, May well have been in the cellar, can remember steps. Would think High Spot would be Mid to Late 60s? Not me most lucid period.

I'd love to read the whole article, anzac, can you post it? so typical of how older people regarded the new dance craze, reminds me of my wicked, misspent youth when I should have been studying.

Haslingden Old and New...: The Sixties was something else!! ASTORIA, AMBULANCE HALL, BUCCANEERS, PUBLIC HALL ETC...
