visited the place quite a lot and usualy ended up at flames after for a few extra beers which was like a night club version of the vulcan lol
if i remember correctly the place didnt even have carpet down it was just stone flags lol
easier to clean puke and pee off i guess

This pub in the early seventies sold more lager and soft drinks than any other pub in Blackburn.....The carpet was taken up by the then Landlord...Walt Buck who was a former bus driver on the Ribble.
A friend of mine, with my help sometimes, took the stock and submitted VAT records.
Walt Buck made quite a consirable amount of money in this place and bought the Jacksons Arms in Chorley....The Sun and the Swan in Blackburn...A big pub in Preston town centre......A Pub in Abbey Village....A pub in Whalley.
The last I heard of Walt..........He made himself known to my Daughter who was then a nursing sister on coronary care after seeing her name tag. Time had caught up with him, Dodgy ticker.
As far as I know Walter is still alive......The old Bandit.

Even the puke's different these days with all this diet stuff, yoget, processed foods and alcopops Chardonay, lattes, for gods sake where has all the character gone. at least we used to get decent stuff in the pubs, dog ends stale beer smells, dogs breath, mogy cats, pies were a lot biger and tastie.

If your ever ever for a holiday Alan you'll have to pop in my club, they have 3 natural beers on, Wynnonie's favourite Black Sheep, Pendal Witch, and I think the other is called Bartender, they are are all good, or so I'm told
