Re: toys of the 70's and 80's

My childhood was made up of looky likey toys
Eg wanted subbuteo, got casdon soccer
wanted Jump Jockey, got escalado
wanted Lego, got bettabuilda
wanted Johnny 7 multi weapon thingy , got spud gun
.....not that these early disappointments in life have left a scar, my therapist says I'm making great progress and will soon be able to talk about my teenage let downs too.

Did you never think about taking them apart and then putting them back together again? That way the stickers stayed on!!

I begged and pleaded for a Chatty Cathy doll but alas I never did get one. I went mad for a stylophone but didn't get one of those either.
I had some Klackers. They were brilliant!
Had a Sindy doll, just wasn't impressed when I wanted a Chatty Cathy.
Had an etch a sketch.
Couldn't play music on a flippin etch a sketch

What were those corrugated plastic tubes called that you swung round your head to make a "Woo- Woo" sound?

I'm not sure but I think they came out about the same time as the first "Hot Wheels" sets, maybe about 1975?
