For me it was Dr Who back in the good old days of John Pertwee -when the Daleks came on I used to hide behind the settee!

Re: What did you watch when you was a nipper?
First episode of Doctor Who, set in a junkyard. Saturday teatime, November 1963, with William Hartnell. Downhill all the way since then!
Actually I wasn't a nipper, I was sixteen!

Re: What did you watch when you was a nipper?
I watched the old and trusted valve radio. I was more interested in the glow of the valve in the back of the radio. It must have been in the late 50s when people started to get TVs in any real numbers around our way at least. We also had an organ in the front room and I could pick tunes on that for something to do I suppose. So no we did not watch much TV. Too busy with football, cricket and swimming etc.

PS more book reading improves your english grammar skill
eg - when you were, not when you was

I used to like watching the train make it from London to Brighton in four minutes.

Sorry Gary, I'm getting old Graham Charman or Sharman I think he was call, I never saw him again when I left Pilky's, used to see the twins quite a lot, but I think one of them died quite a few years ago, and of course Cecil died a long time ago
