Re: What were you doing 20 years ago?
Not a right lot, I was only 10 year old ....... so I will have just been finishing school and getting for catching the school bus home, on which I used to bully a little fat lad that has since grown into a massive 6ft 4" body builder that thankfully doesn't hold grudges or I probably wouldn't have been here to post this 20 years later!!

Re: What were you doing 20 years ago?
Working for a living, bringing up two children, doing half a dozen voluntary jobs, having a great time doing my first two OU courses, and moving house. No wonder I'm aged and worn!

I had just moved south 400 miles to the Washington DC area to start work with the Federal Government! It was pretty tough leaving family and friends behind but I still have the same girl I left with!

Re: What were you doing 20 years ago?
I think I was in Ossy on holiday so I was either playing snooker up James St club or having a pint in the Rose and Crown.

Re: What were you doing 20 years ago?
Approx this time 20 years ago my youngest had fallen off a swing and ended up with a fractured skull, he was fine at the end of the saga thankfully, and we were going back and forth to BRI via Ambulance and that is when I asked "What do you need to have to get on the service?" At that time I was on HBT and looking to get out of the job as I could see the way that the privateisation of the buses was going.

Re: What were you doing 20 years ago?
Twenty years ago today, according to my diary, my Dad said as a present I could go anywhere in the world for passing my degree.
I had three blissful weeks above a doughnut shop in Mykonos, catching up with the Austrian friends I'd made there two years earlier.
Happy days.

Re: What were you doing 20 years ago?
Twenty years ago I was Sister on the Gynaecology ward at QPH....and still learnig, though I was doing a city and guilds in teaching adults as well.
You can't teach anything without learning something...even if that something is about yourself. I hated doing lesson plans and stating aims and Objectives for lessons. I always said that if I ruled the world I would banish the two words 'aims' and 'objectives'.......but once the lesson planning was done I really enjoyed the teaching part.......I think that I am basically a repressed exhibitionist!

Re: What were you doing 20 years ago?
The other thing about teaching was that we had to have 30 hours of observed classroom teaching so that we could be graded.....I had a male tutor, so teaching the female reproductive system was quite embarassing for him........he used to glow bright red when he had to ask me questions after the teaching sessions were over....and I used to make it twice as bad for him by pretending that i hadn't heard his question properly.......he would try anything not to have to use some of the anatomical words that were necessary.

Working at the TSB - Accy, Clayton, Great Harwood, Rishton, one or other of them and prior to that Church, Eanam, Lord St West and various other outlandish places like Rawtenstall and Haslingden! I think I even got as far afield as Waterfoot once.
