Re: Which was best, Golden Palms, Cavendish, Cats Whiskers or any such club!

Had some great times at the Mecca in the mid to late 60s, most friday nights I had to walk home to Accy after a plate of steak, chips and currie at the Indian just around the corner.
My favourite club though was the Ace of Spades in Whalley. I remember seeing Christine Keeler there, she couldn,t sing but???

Burnley Mecca was my favourite. I worked behind the bar there for a while in the late sixties. Cavendish was good too and on occasion we went to Nelson Imp. Bouncy dance floor!

Yes, Cashy. I remember seeing Ben E King there.

Burnley Mecca was really strict with their staff. We all had to line up and show our finger nails before work. They did provide a free taxi back to Accy though.

If they only knew what me and my mate got up to behind that bar! Memories!!!
