Yep, went into the Apollo every now and then. Very dark and dingy. Had the astronaut hanging from the ceiling.
PS - I think it's spelt Lodestar.

I left the UK in 1974 and I think it was called the Golden Palms if I'm not mistaken. I loved going to the Cav we had great Saturday nights out there. Last stop was the Wine Lodge then on to the Cav. I was sorry when it got burnt down, we were there on the Sunday night and my friend called me at work on the Monday to say it had burnt. fond memories.

Lar De Dars opened just after I turned 18 so we started going there as well, but Angels was still a big favourite.

And where was the "Top Hat". I used to frequent the Lodestar in my day, on the way home we would stop off at the KFC for some grub.

Angels was in Burnley. Just as you head into Burnley from Accy, you turned left and it was down a side street.
It had a main floor with a balcony all round the top where they served food. So you could go upstairs, eat some chips and watch the talent downstairs.

Oh the memories - Got my head kicked in at the Golden Palms and always seemed to throw up on the bus on the way back from the Cats Whiskers.

That's what I remember about those places. Always met the Ladies in the Whiskers and one of the best punches I ever gave someone was on the dance floor of the Palms and it always seemed to be that way. Girls Burnley, trouble Blackburn!! Oh happy days

'Ossie Empire' was the place I did most of my rockin n' rollin back in the good old 1960's. Booze was banned but the Railway Pub was only next door!
