It moved years ago to King St., where the Elma Yerburgh used to be. Don't know if it's still there.

Looking at the map you've just put up has reminded me of something...didn't the Dirty Duck have an entrance at both sides into both Market Street Lane and Fleming Square? I seem to remember when the punch up broke out near one entrance, me and my mate made a quick exit through the other one!

It certainly did. Fleming Square was the rear entrance.

Thanks for confirming my increasingly failing memory, Yerself!...and as for the Elma Yerburgh, there's a name I'd forgotten! Cracking pub!

No Alan it was after the fire when it was one big room, that pub the Grosvenor, wasn't there two pubs called that, one a small one in a back street, which was a real dive, seem to remember blood splattered on the walls and ceiling in the vault, could be wrong but seems to ring a bell

Good foto that , looks like top of King st. ... seem to remember Little Sheffield located a bit more to the right on a bit of an open square ...

Just my opinion but think Blackburn center was destroyed when they built the shopping center, the 'old' Thwaites arcade, Market Hall and Fish market next door would be given national landmark status these days ,
