How did you manage that, Mr C? I always had to pay.
Last time I was in was Boxing Night, 1976. There'd been a derby match at Ewood and it kicked off between Rovers and Clarets fans. Ended up getting lamped (even though I was a neutral) and made a stratrgic retreat!

Used to go in there some lunch times, met a lass who worked at Woolies for for drinkies, the main thing I remember was that you stuck to the bloody carpet, it was disgustingly sticky wi people pouring their ale on the floor instead of down their necks

Re: Years Gone By
sometime in the early 80's the Pickwick got a late drinking license and one night they had a special offer of 30p for a shot of gin...me and a mate went in there with £15 each and thats the last thing I remember... woke up the day after with about 80p in mi pocket, we must have done a bottle each!

I remember reading about that.
The nit nurse was just taking those little tots for a breath of fresh air, whilst the chemicals started to work on their shaved bonces.

Re: Years Gone By
Continuous showings at the Cinema, you could stay in all day if you wished. Hated going in though just before the end of the main movie ... had to shut my eyes and ears for a while so it wouldn't spoil it later.

Re: Years Gone By
I used to love the B movies, especially the detective and western fillums. In fact, a lot of the time, I used to like 'em better than the main feature!
