Yet another shop goes

The little hardware shop on Blackburn rd near longsdale street has closed down after 60 years 1946-2006 .
Passing there this afternoon i was shocked to see them emptying it of stock, you could buy anything there from dolly blue to garden riddles. SHAME.

Re: Yet another shop goes

Little Paris has been there for years - I can remember it way back. At least something is still there. Anyone remember Sauls, just along from there?

Mez, you will remember May Jolly's hardware shop (now June's) - everything from oilcloth to magic painting books, and the shop had a wonderful smell, part paraffin, part polish, and part GKW.
