Accrington Web
Almost daily now, i get a message which removes my accyweb, and tells me i have an infection on my computer and gives me 360 seconds to press a download to remove it, it gives impression it is from Microsoft, by the coloured square logo it displays. i know sod all about computers but i'm near certain this is a con, i NEVER press any download what appears unless certain it is correct. i find it strange that it NEVER appears when i am on another tab (site) only here. does anyone know whats happening? i have just ran my scan which has shown nothing at all. oh by the way this that appears, also tells me i will lose important files if i do not act,

Re: Accrington Web
you do right cashy, sounds like a scam, if you download it will most probably scan your computer and find fake threats, and then it will urge you to purchase its software, like Margarete I'm not a tech wizard either, hope someone on here will assist you on how to get rid of the pop up

Re: Accrington Web
Cashy have a look at https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/ as they will be able to advise you best.
if you can take a screenshot and post it there or look at their virus removal guides.
Have a look and see if it is one of these: https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-removal/
You have been infected and need something like malwarebytes to assist after removing it.

This sounds like the following to me:
Did you go into any website that promised fixes for your PC?
If so look at "All Programmes" in your PC-System Files.
Look for a programme that wasn't always there, resp. just been installed recently. Usually it will have a name like "PC-Fix, or PC-Secure, or something along this line.
You can then delete this using the deinstall button.
Hope this helps.
Cheers
