Black Border?

Hope i can explain the problem i've got correctly so you can understand it.

I have suddenly got a black boarder around anything i open ie: word, internet pages, screen saver etc. Don't know how to get rid of it anybody any advice please.

Possibilities
Have you been messing with the settings in control panel
or the controls on the monitor,
or if its a video monitor as opposed to flat screen, could be the monitor on its way out.

Televisions do that, picture goes smaller and then pop

Thanks for that Retlaw. I haven't been messing with the settings but someone else could have done so. But your theory that the monitor is on the way out sounds logic enough, we've had the monitor for almost nine years. So it might be time to invest in a new one, but shall wait awhile and see if it goes pop.
