CPU usage tech question

Further to my earlier post/thread about "Not responding" think I may have found my problem , seems my CPU Usage is running at 100 % even when I am not running any programs , the task manager shows only 1 application (compaq connctions agent) , if I click on Processes I get a long list under the 'image name' column all which show 00 under the CPU usage column except for 1 which shows up as
McciServiceHost.exe SYSTEM 99 740K

Question , according to the "eHow site " it says I should right click high usage 'sites' and then click 'End Process' , but when I do this I get a warning saying it can cause undesired results including loss of data and system instability.

Any advice from the Techies , Thanks

am using widows XP if that makes a difference , thanks

Re: CPU usage tech question

Just end it and see what happens. If you have all programs closed you should not be able to loose data. Worst case windows will crash and you will have to turn pc off/on again.
