ddns problem

Hi all im having issues with my dynamic dns , ive set up an update client on my router and forwarded all incoming traffic to my cctv system. It works for about a day but when the wan ip address changes, it dosent update the new address with dyndns . any ideas?

Are you sure you set up the ddns client correctly in the router.

The clients in many routers are very rubbish.

Try a PC based client for a few days and see if that updates or not. That will help you prove if its the router or not.

yes its definitely set up correctly. There is no way of knowing if its updating or not. Its doing my head in :-(

dyndns get upset if you update the IP to many times without it changing and block you. Some routers do this. My router works perfectly with dyndns.

What router are you using.

ive got a pro account with ddns so i can update as many times as i wan.t so that shouldnt be a problem . the router is a tp-link adsl modem/router.

Did you try updating the IP with a PC based updater to prove its the router?
