That is hardly fair! All of us need to try things for themselves thats how proper opinions are formed if we just take the word of 'techy' folk we get no chance to learn.

Anyway, latest update, Yahoo taken off, msn taken off, smiley central taken off firefox been running stable for about a week now, now the fun starts, putting them back on to find out which one is guilty.

It would appear that something doesn't like smiley central! As soon as I re-installed it problems! It brings the 'my way' tool bar with it and that uses shock wave.

When accyweb chat room used shock wave I couldn't get in so I wonder if shock wave is what's causing my problem?

Msn rocks! Just, with a Linux client or something which dosn't have all the annoying winks, custom emotes and what not

Re: Firefox 1.0.4

Cyfr
There is a difference between MSN and MSN Messenger. MSN is a crappy client that sits over IE and trys to 'add value' to your web browsing. MSN Messenger is as you know a IM protocol. Personally I use GAIM on my laptop to manage my two MSN IM accounts, my AOL and my Yahoo IM Account. On my mobile I use a Jabber server to manage all these and effectively forward the combined set of buddies to my phone in a Java MIDP IM client.

Re: Firefox 1.0.4

Well Msn Messenger is the program name, and the Msn Messenger Protocol is the protocol.. if we want to get pedantic.

Fair enough, I was never a pedant

For info there is a good description of the whole shebang here

Hi Mick.

Sorry about the delay - I only just noticed your post.

I use neither of these on my laptop. On my main PC I use MSN Messenger

I keep well away from toolbars, except spoofstick

Does this help?
