Re: I Am Making A Web Site

Do you have broadband at home? If you you can run a basic site from home by using apache as a webserver and DynDns.org to point a 'friendly URL' to your home PC. You need to be careful re security(Firewalls etc but I can talk you through this off line if you like.) but it is quite easy to setup and wouldn't cost you anything except leaving your pc on all day/night.

Lightbulb Re: I Am Making A Web Site

Free Websites:

Hey, try this one. It's very good but you'll have to learn spanish!!!

www.miarroba.com - only a small banner in the botton of your site

Or this one. It's a good one too:

http://www.freeservers.com/ - 30 days without anything but after that you'll have a big banner and a pop-up.

Or this other one. ...
http://www.fateback.com/index.html - I don't know if it's really good... just try it...

And other ones (I'm tyred of typing...):

http://www.fortunecity.com/

http://www.portland.co.uk/

http://free.prohosting.com/

Hot Tip:
======
Once you understand the simple code for HTML for hyperlinks, as shown on next line...

<a href="http://www.bbc.co.uk/">This is the BBC Website</a> - lots of facts<br>

You can discard the favourites in your web browser and store all your precious links within webpages on your local disk.

Now your precious links are mobile.
Copy the pages to CDRom or USB and take them with you.
Or upload the pages to some webspace and you don't even need a CDRom or USB pen.

As you can see my precious links are stored on my E: drive on my laptop and I have collected many thousands over the years.

Good Luck

Re: I Am Making A Web Site

At www.ukreg.com I got a .co.uk domain for under £7 for 2 years.
At I-web I got a webspace for £10.99 a year that will do whatever you seem to want & more.
(you have to be a member of cable forum to get it at that price).
