Outlook Express - outbox problem

My computer at work has developed a weird problem

When I send the email - it does go, but the message then stays in the "Outbox" and does not transfer to the "Sent" folder

it then sits there until I send another email or until it automatically "send & recieve check" and then it sends again - which becomes very annoying to people to recieve the same message 30 times !!!!

The only way I have been able to stop it is to manually delete it or move to Drafts folder....very inconvenient

Any ideas guys

Thanks in advance

Mick

Re: Outlook Express - outbox problem

Have you checked all your settings?
It could be that you have your send and receive set up so that it doesn't auto transfer to sent.
Is it a new problem - when did it start? Was it after an upgrade or any changes?

Re: Outlook Express - outbox problem

Go to

Tools
Options
Preferences
Email Options
Tick the box that says save a copy of messages in sent folder

See if that helps

Hi Gayle

Started about 2 weeks ago, been no upgrade or changes to the system - has been running fine for last 3 yrs

Have looked at settings - save to Sent box is ticked

Re: Outlook Express - outbox problem

Sorted it

Believe it or not my "Sent Items" folder was full - over the years I've never bothered to clean it up, didn't like to bin emails esp work ones chance I needed to refer back to em

but thats what it was....once I started to delete the oldest esp with attachments it all started to work again

So thats something to remember and pass on
