Uploading problems

Hi, I'm wondering if anyone can advise me on this. Recently for some reason I can't upload pictures that are on my computer to the internet in the form of an attachment to an email or forum response. When I try to attach them it just says waiting for response or uploading, but never gets anywhere. Puzzled!

You could be trying to upload pictures that are to large.

Are you using a web browser based email like hotmail? You say you cant upload to email or forums so it might be a problem with your browser.

Try doing it again with a different web browser.

Re: Uploading problems

When you upload a picture on here you can see a progress counter showing the percentage done at the bottom of the upload window. It is shown in the first picture in the post. Then it says waiting. I think its waiting while it resizes your picture to an acceptable size automatically by the forum software.

The second picture was just a test. Its size on my computer is 3,477KB. It is now 603.4 KB after the forum resized it automatically. I have noticed it doing this with jpg files for a long time, I assume it does with other pictures as well but I have not tried it. Not sure which forum update added this functionality but I think it was the one which made the attachments appear in the middle of the screen. I think I remember having to resize pictures to post when I first joined the site though.

The other file sizes Less posted will be fixed as the forum software can't resize .doc .pdf files etc.

So you should not be having a problem uploading to here due to the file size.

I was trying to upload on another forum which usually re-sizes automatically. I also tried on hotmail which allows 25mb

I'm using firefox. Perhaps it needs updating? But I'm sure it gets updated when prompted
