I didn't bother buying the upgrade as a guy at work told me he has it and it doesn't do a lot more.

Re: virus warning

Trend is pretty good - that's what I've got.

The one on the laptop is called BitDefender, which I had never heard of until yesterday

Re: virus warning

Panda os OK, AVG from Grisoft is another i recommend to Windows users. I too am not a fan of Norton.

Re the Teddy bear hoax, it was actually not a windows system file but a java debugger and for 99.99% of people would cause no problems whatsoever.

As for these Hoax emails they are effectively using you as teh virus. Most viruses work on the principle of reading your addressbook and sending itself to everyone in it. the hoaxes don't even put the effort of writing the code to do it, they rely on people being scared and following their instructions. If these said please delete all your files would you do it? I don't think so so please don't go sending stuff to everyone. All it does is clog up networks with unecessecary traffic.

For those of you who only use a PC for Internet, email and office there is another way!
