Where Have Me Photos Gone ?

I have picasa and all my photos where in it, went in for one last night and they have all gone

could someone please help.yes i know i should have backed them up on disc

but i havent. could someone have stole them off my putor?

please help!

right click the desktop icon for your program picasa and select properties

click find location

your programs forlders will be displayed

look through the folders for your pictures and see if they are there

not familiar with your program but thats where i would look first

Your photo's aren't actually stored in Picasa, there stored where you put them, Picasa just remembers where everything is and groups them together and displays them in 1 window.
Where do you usually save to?

what file extension does it savethe pictures as..?

if it saves as .jpg for instance right click the my computer icon on you desktop and search all files

where it says file name just type in .jpg and search

select view as thumbnails in the tool bar of the search window to make viewing easier

also try a search for .bmp as it may save as either .jpg or .bmp

Heh, that will also show up any dodgy pictures from your temp internet folder! So be careful who is looking over your shoulder

If you have for some obscure reason saved your pictures as bitmaps you can save a lot of space by saving them as jpg. although its a lossy format it is accepted as teh de facto standard for pictures nowadays. If you really want to keep them as uncompressed, then TIFF is the format to use(Bitmaps ncan easily be corrupted)
