Thumbs down Windows Media 11

...is crap, it seems least not only me that it wont let u sync with mp3 player nor will it transfer by other means even burn anymore

Seems there has been a stop on using it for its intent of being a multi functional media player to ........................ just a player

Ah well winamp it is then

Re: Windows Media 11

dont know then. check the microsoft website and see if it shows a compatibility list for mp3 players for it. but i think if you install drivers that usually come with mp3 players then media player always detects them.

Re: Windows Media 11

Version 11 has built in and enabled DRM that is there to stop you ripping music from CD to MP3 players etc

DRM = Digital Rights Management. a form of copy protection.

Even with legal downloads it still happens so presumably ver 11 seems to deem all as dodgey

Re: Windows Media 11

AS I understand it, Legal downloads are only currently allowed to be played on 1 media device hence it stops you 'copying' it to a mp3 player as well. Hence Windows stopping you. This is the result of nobody listening to techies about 4 years ago when we were all up in arms about it and teh general public were apathetic.

Yeh ive really taken to winamp its quite good once u get hang of it & also better for playing local radio on - even that doesn't seem to work on win media 11 either despite saying otherwise.
