Thanks for all your replies. Rang Virgin and they advised to get a wireless re-router but i am so ignorant were computer technology is concerned.

Go wireless.

I have a BT Homehub and can connect a mates laptop 3 houses away.

Plus I can connect My pc anyware in the house.

Have not had one problem with it yet.

On the news the other week it said that homehub's use wep encryption to be more compatible with customers equipment.

If it is true it means that anyone else who wants to connect to your network/broadband/PC can if they really want too.

A Hacker could probably hack in to anyones wireless if they really wanted to.

I could set a 40 key encription code. which would make it a lot harder.

People have tried to connect to my home hub already and couldnt unless I set it up for them. neighbours eigh.
